Europa Park was always on our itinerary. To say our kids were excited about it was an understatement, they desperately wanted to become Europa Park fans and to be honest so did we! We had been watching youtube clips of the rides at Europa Park Germany for months in advance before we left for our family holiday in Europe. I had experienced screams and yelling at the computer of “I am going on that”, “that looks fast”, “that’s too scary for me”.
We had organised a day at Europa Park before we left Australia. We have some amazing friends in Freiburg who were happy to take us to Europa Park. When we arrived in Germany our friends told us they had a surprise for the kids. We were going to stay at Europa Park for the night, we would be Europa Park camping! This information nearly sent Willow and Marley into a meltdown at the very least it caused a commotion of yelling and squealing that would have woke up most of the town of Merdinger in Germany…we were well on our way to being the biggest Europa Park fans and we had not even been there yet!
Our Friends Adriana and Thomas had booked us all a night at Camp Resort Europa Park. Now this is not any normal camp resort, this is a wild west themed campground. Think wagons, saloons, bunk houses and open fires. We were booked into a 6 person teepee in the Tipi village!
Our Teepee had 6 single beds in it, we had to bring our own linen. The teepee had lighting and 1 power point for all your technology. I suggest you bring a power board if you have as many devices as we do. The teepee is made out of industrial strength Vinyl and lined with cloth. This allowed the inside of the teepee to stay very warm. There is also accommodation available in wagons and bunk houses, something to fit all budgets and needs.
Toilets and amenities were dotted around the Europa holiday park. These included family rooms (to make it easier for you the parent to shower multiple kids at a time). The amenities that we used we found to be extremely clean and although we used the family room to shower Willow and Marley we found the ladies and men’s amenities very spacious. The Europa Park camp resort had a main street of sorts that featured a Cantina and saloon. These 2 premises were decked out in a western theme and were quite impressive. Food, snacks, and drinks were available from here along with numerous vending machines located around the camp resort tipi village. The camp resort Europa Park had numerous fire pits with bbq grills so you can bring your own food for a family cook up. Fridges were available to store your perishables in and wood was piled up for your fires.
BBQ and Beers at Camp Resort Europa Park
There are kids activities available at different times, there is a playground, mechanical bull riding and even a lake to swim in if the weather is fine. Europa Park camp resort features more luxurious accommodation at its hotels. These hotels also have kids activities that your kids can attend. The office at the camp resort Europa Park will organise a Europa Park bus for you and the kids to get yourself to these hotels and the activities if you would like to attend them. Our daughters Willow and Marley attended a pirate-themed activity at Hotel Bell Rock. Best of all Europa Park Theme Park is just a short walk or Europa Park bus ride away from the Europa Park camping grounds. We spent only 1 day at the theme park, but I would recommend 2 days at least. The size of the park is huge and who would want to leave these amazing Europa Park camping grounds.
Overall we had a positive experience at Camp Resort Europa Park (we are all definitely Europa Park fans now!) and would not hesitate to stay there again. Wyld Family Travel highly recommends this for family travel. Your kids will love the novelty of sleeping in a teepee
