Where is Ribeauville?
Ribeauvillé is a small village of 5,000 people on the Alsace Wine Route. A popular little town that is located 17 kilometres from Colmar and 65 kilometres from Strasbourg. We were looking for a little town with history, an easy location to get to the major sites of the area, a town with local shopping options, and an authentic apartment with parking options. We found all this in Ribeauvillé and Gîte Les Ménétriers – Les Vieilles Vignes.
Where is the best apartment in Ribeauville?
In French, Gîte Les Ménétriers means town centre and this apartment was certainly central to everything. The apartment just oozes appeal and charm—everything from the beautiful building to the exposed timber beams inside the apartment to the quaint French decorations. We loved it, it was literally a dream come true to stay here, just 100 meters from the main town square.
Our kids went and bought fresh baguettes every morning, and a fresh fruit and vegetable market popped up twice a week in the town square. Just 50 meters away was Gourmand Drinks, a small bar-restaurant located off the tourist path that fills up with locals most evenings. This location was close to everything, we really did have the best apartment in Ribeauvillé.
The best apartment in Ribeauville
A medium-sized, two-bedroom apartment on the second floor of a traditional wooden Alsace house. The two bedrooms are of good size and are comfortable with queen-sized beds, storage for your clothes and belongings, and windows. We found the curtains thick enough to block out light in the morning.
The bathroom was modern with a good-sized shower, toilet and basin with a hairdryer and towels for your convenience.
The lounge room/kitchen area is fully stocked with pots, pans and all the cooking equipment you could need. There is an oven, microwave, and dishwasher to make life easier, as well as plenty of plate and cup options. We really appreciated the wine glasses, after all, we were in wine country. With a full-sized kitchen table with six chairs, there was enough room for the whole family. The fridge is a great size, which you will need as there is just so much amazing fresh food in Alsace. The lounge area has chairs, a double sofa-bed and a TV for your entertainment.
The building has a communal laundrette on the first floor, featuring both a washing machine and a dryer. There is storage space for bicycles and big rubbish bins for the apartment trash.
Parking for the best apartment in Ribeauville
Since we were driving across Europe, we needed a place that had onsite or nearby car parking. Located 200 meters away is free car parking on Rue du Rempart de la Streng. This is a big car park fitting around 200 cars, so you should easily be able to find parking. We stayed for 30 days and parked there every night.

Our Ribeauville accommodation exceeded our best expectations. We stayed in the apartment with 2 teenagers. The apartment was comfy with enough room for all of us. It is not a big apartment but it is a good size for a family of four people. We truly believe this is one of the best apartments in Ribeauville for family travel or for a couple staycation.
